The Grenfell Tower fire.
How deeply this is moving us all. There really are not the adequate words. But there is prayer. Please continue to pray. For the people of Grenfell Tower and all those who live in the surrounding community. Pray for those now lost, those who are bereaved, those whose loved ones are still missing, those seriously injured and in hospital. And for people who have lost their homes and everything they owned in the fire.
Pray too for our friends at Latymer Community Church, Eden Ladbroke Grove and the other churches of Ladbroke Grove. They are being an amazing community of aid, refuge, prayer and witness not just for the community in pain but as a longstanding and vital part of it.
Tonight at 9pm at Latymer Community Church there will be a gathering for Christians to come and pray ahead of the multi-faith prayer vigil at 10pm. There is still need and one of those is for Christians to pray on the streets and be a presence in Jesus name amidst the simmering pain and confusion.
We believe in the God who weeps.
We believe in the power of prayer.
We believe in the witness the church, the body of Christ.
May his presence bring peace where there is such pain.
May his presence hold all awash in the sea of this trauma.
May we find his strength.
May we give his strength.
May we find his strength
